Calling all new Students!

Rowing on the Tyne

Freshers weeks across the country are under way, and there’s no better time to get started in the fun, sociable, and challenging world of university rowing!

Rowing is a fantastic way to meet new people and make new friends, with socials, training, and national competitions offering valuable opportunities to mix with students from right across your university.

University rowing clubs up and down the country will be out in force at freshers fairs next week, with all the details you need to get started in one of the oldest and most prestigious disciplines in university sport.

Whether you want to race, keep in shape, or join a lively, famously fraternal social scene, university rowing is the place to be, with most clubs offering free taster sessions to show you just how much fun you can have out on the water.

For people who have tried rowing before, and fancy their chances of slipping straight into a more experienced crew, many university boat clubs offer a fast-track system – just contact one of the club captains.

To find out more about your university boat club, as well as contact and website details, type your university’s postcode into the British Rowing Club Finder and select the appropriate club.
